Jimmy Rice 12 February 2007 Dirk Kuyt admits he and his teammates must be more clinical in front of goal if they are to knock Barcelona out of the Champions League. | |
The Dutchman knows Liverpool had enough chances to leave Tyneside with all three points on Saturday. Instead, they fly out to Portugal for a five-day training camp thinking of what might have been. "It has been a long season and sometimes a rest like this can help you," said Kuyt. "Against Barcelona, it is vital we are more clinical in front of goal. If we create that many chances against Barca we will win because normally we take our chances." Kuyt also expressed disappointment for strike partner Craig Bellamy, who returned to St James's Park for the first time since leaving the club. "Craig is fine but he was desperate to win this match. He scored a great goal and played well but the only thing he wanted to do was beat Newcastle and we didn't, so like the rest of us he's a bit upset." |
