Another Liverpool-born Academy starlet stands on the brink of international recognition tonight.Teenage striker James Ellison has been called up to the England under-16 squad for the Victory Shield international against Scotland.
Ellison joins Academy team-mate Sean Highdale, who won his first cap in the previous game against Northern Ireland. The 15-year old hails from Netherton and is described as a forward with quick feet and good pace, who likes to take up central positions.
Tonight's game, which kicks off at 8.05pm, has been switched from York City to Scunthorpe United due to a waterlogged pitch and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports. A win for Kenny Swain's young Lions will see them clinch the Victory Shield at Scotland's expense.
