![]() | Jimmy Rice 12 March 2007 Liverpool midfielder Danny Guthrie hopes to extend his loan spell at Southampton until the end of the season so he can bring vital first-team experience back to Anfield. |
The 19-year-old midfielder last week began a month's stay with the promotion-chasing Coca-Cola Championship side. After making his debut at Preston North End last week, Guthrie said: "Southampton are a massive club who belong in the Premiership, and I hope I can help them to get there. "They have a great stadium and a good fanbase, and they play the game in the right way, which is important to me. "When I got the call asking me if I wanted to come, it took me only two minutes to say yes, and I am already hoping it can be extended." | |
