Jimmy Rice 13 March 2007 Peter Crouch insists he isn't worried about the arrival of new strikers at the club in the summer. | |
Ukrainian forward Andriy Voronin will come to Anfield from Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season – and Rafa Benitez may not stop there. But Crouch believes the extra competition can only be good for the Reds – even if it means he plays fewer games. "There's a lot of speculation about what might happen in the summer but you just have to accept it as part and parcel of being at a big club like Liverpool," he said. "With the new investment the manager might have a bit of money to spend and it's obvious we're going to get quality players in. "It will be tougher to get in the team and nobody's place will be certain. "It means you will have to work as hard as possible to keep your place. That doesn't bother me. The fact that the manager will be looking to strengthen the squad can only be good news." |
