Jimmy Rice 31 January 2007 Centre-back Daniel Agger insists revenge will not be in the air when Everton visit Anfield on Saturday. | |
The Reds lost 3-0 in the season's first Merseyside derby but Agger claims he and his teammates will be thinking only of picking up another three points. "I don't think it's a case of wanting revenge. No matter who we play, I want to win. Always. Okay, we lost at Goodison Park but even if we hadn't I'd still want all three points from this fixture," the Dane told LFC Magazine. "The motivation should always be there because we should all want to win every game. That is how you achieve victory, it's all in the mind." Agger sat out the last derby, and while he admits he'd love to be involved this time round, he refuses to take his place for granted. "I watched that match and it was a really tough affair. Games like this are something special. It's a massive occasion and the spectators make so much noise. "But nobody says I'm going to play this one either." |
