Xabi Alonso has urged his teammates to put the Champions League out of their minds and concentrate on climbing up the Premiership table.
The Spanish midfielder admits he is excited about next Friday's draw for the last 16 , but says the squad must concentrate above all on improving their league form.
"We know we have to now concentrate on the Premiership and forget about Europe, apart from waiting for the last-16 draw next week," he said.
"We have to start being consistent in the league and to manage more away victories, and now Europe is out of our minds we can work hard on correcting our league form."
